Our client is a very experienced professionals in the medical industry. They came up with an idea to provide access to quality health information to every individual, even in the most remote regions of our country through mobile and web.

They started with the web first and then realized that mobile apps are the best way to reach more people. The requirement was to create an Android & iOS app which normal people can see health related articles, videos and health forums for patients to connect with others and experienced doctors. The app should dictate the article in selected language. All the articles were created in a single language (English) and app should dictate it in selected language. Client’s major requirement was to dictate the english article in hindi. Also, if dictation is unavailable, the article should convert into corresponding other languages. Based on the app language, the entire content or article should show in selected language.

Solution

Synclovis has recognized the client requirement and allocated team for the development of both Android & iOS version. Our team studied and analysed the requirements and designed the solution. Our team has also suggested latest design trends like material design, material animations etc. Our team rolled out the first version of both Android and iOS app in 3 months. When client come up with voice search feature, we suggested the keyword identification to navigate through the menu options along with it.

Process

Our strong technical team was able to identify the right technology (of that period) to fulfill the requirements. We provided a complete roadmap and flow of the tech and how are we going to execute it. We contacted the technology creators (like Akamai) directly for clarifications and exclusive support.

Playing doctor videos online

Stream doctor videos without losing the quality. The quality of the video should change based on the user internet connectivity. App must be capable of handling the quality of the stream based on the internet speed.

For the handling of quality of video based on internet speed, we enhanced the streaming techniques along with the support of Akamai video hosting provider. We adjusted the bitrate for seamless streaming of video.

Multilingual support with translation and speech techniques

The app supports a feature where users can translate the health information to their local language. Also, the app must have the facility to speak (app should speak) the health information in selected language.

For the multilingual support and text speech features, we used google translator and speech APIs and changed it based on our requirement.

Play videos in portrait and landscape mode

Client need youtube kind of user experience in the app. User must see video at the top of the screen and related article after that in portrait mode. When the user taps on fullscreen or rotate the device to landscape mode, the app should play the video in full screen without article and other details. The app should maintain the video time & seekbar consistently without any break in audio or video while switching to & from portrait or landscape mode. We were able to give the exact youtube like user experience to the users and we integrated same youtube like player controls also.

AWS Webservices

Apart from the mobility, we were able to suggest and guide the client to use AWS webservices when client was confused about the deployment. We were able to convince the client based on our experience in AWS hosting and IP management. Server IP was keep on changing frequently and the client’s backend team was facing domain issues. As our team had hands on experience on backend technologies and devops, we were able to fix the issue by suggesting the client to use elastic IP of AWS.
